Mark Baldwin is an Australian architect and subject matter expert in the field of building information modelling. He has been engaged in the application of BIM since 2005 in the planning and construction of large and complex projects in Australia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

His career includes working as a BIM project architect, a BIM Manager for a large general contractor and as a BIM consultant to project owners. This background has given Mark a many-sided understanding of building information modelling that is both conceptual and strongly pragmatic.

Mark has also been involved with strategic implementation and development of BIM at national and international levels. Most significantly through his six-year involvement with the buildingSMART organisation. Formerly Middle East Chapter representative to the International User Group, Mark is currently a board member of the Swiss Chapter. He is also actively engaged with buildingSMART International initiatives, as member of the Building Committee and coordinator of the Professional Certification programme.

Now based in the Canton of Zürich in Switzerland, Mark is Head of BIM Management (Leiter BIM Management) for the European based technology and consultancy firm Mensch und Machine and works with clients in Switzerland and across Europe.
